The panel says US regulators should block mergers and acquisitions in this country by Huawei Technologies and ZTE, among the world's leading suppliers of telecommunications gear and mobile phones.Reflecting US concern over cyber-attacks traced to China, the report also recommends that US government computer systems not include any components from the two firms because that could pose an espionage risk."China has the means, opportunity, and motive to use telecommunications companies for malicious purposes," the report says. Harmy,Paranoia when describing a person is one thing, but discussing a subcommittee or committee in congress it is probably a good bit more complex. We practice cyber warfare now. So why wouldn't the Chinese? Or do they already? As for Google, Intel, Mr. Softy and others.....they play hardball....they are probably in there somewhere behind this move to keep the markets their own in the US.......it is a matter of competitive edges.....Remember these are first American technologies that the Chinese already somewhat block American companies from full control over in China......meaning most American companies have to relinquish a good bit of control to trade in China.....as an aside....I think the communist Chinese are in for a massive depression from here......so it is not all that important this stuff....unless to offset such a depression they go into a militaristic mindset.......Dave
