Pizza Hut; the worlds largest pizza company, web site: http://www.pizzahut.com. says Papa John's uses deceptive advertising:

Deception 1: Papa John's implies their sauce is fresh and other pizza sauce isn't. Their adds show a farmer picking tomatoes and grandpa stirring the sauces as if it's cooked on premises.
vs.

The Real Facts: Papa John's uses cooked and concentrated tomato sauce, stored in cans for up to 18 months. Most companies use vine-ripened tomatoes in their sauce.

Deception 2: Papa John's disparages Pizza Hut's tomato sauce as made from"remanufactured paste", implying Pizza Hut does not use vine-ripened tomatoes.

vs.

The Real Facts: Pizza Hut uses vine-ripened tomatoes. Seasonings are added during the cooking process to enhance flavor, the same waymost chefs do. The sauce is sealed in airtight pouches to ensure freshness, and on average, is used within two months of packaging.
