The Prado Museum is outstanding and over-whelming. Suggest you allow lots of time and take a break half way thru for lunch or coffee. Trains are excellent - we took the night train from Granada to Madrid to save money and it wasnt bad. Nerja on the "Costa de Sol"
(just south of Grenada) was wonderful and not too expensive. Suggest you look at Rick Steves' Best of Spain and Portugal. People were very nice and we usually fond someone that spoke some English. If you rent a car, do it from here. Better rates. Freeways are easy to handle - its those 400 year old cities that are hard in a car. Best of luck!
