The President is spending the next several days being tutored in pre-debate classes. I wonder the result: The President has said in the past he knows more than his speech team and doesn’t take advice readily.

Be assured the President will discuss methodology of verbal cut, thrust and parry but, like Biden, believes he knows better the demeanor of how the debate is going to go.

The President walked away from the last debate believing he won it and believes that Biden also won his debate. From this the President will alter his approach to move forceful: watch the body language of head held high and passive facial expressions.

Why the President is taking schooling is a mystery to me. I have some experience teaching senior executives how to debate (mainly in shareholder meetings) and what the President, to me, showed in the last debate he completely dismissed his debate advisors and ran on ‘I know best, they don’t’ attitude. Biden exemplified that to the point I wondered if he’d had any debate preparation at all.

Tuesday’s debate is in a town-hall fashion. Sound bite heaven supposedly but, in discussion/rebuttal of answers, fraught with peril. What is said is often evidence.

I see the President trying out his ‘better approach than last time’ attitude for about the first quarter hour and then realizes he’s lost his ‘common touch’ and move into his umm and ahh pattern. Yes, he's that predictable.

Romney, in this format that resembles a stockholders’ meeting in many ways, will be calm and unruffled – answering as if to stockholders. Watch how Romney personalizes the questions recognizing the questioner’s reason for asking the question.

Betcha this: when the President walks away at the end of the debate he’ll believe, again, he won even though polling will show differently.

The President has said in the past he knows more than his speech team...

God, I hope so.

We are in trouble as a nation when the president's speech writers are smarter than he his. We should know this from recent experience.

having grown weary of THIS President's ability to speak coherently without a teleprompter, i wonder who you could be referring to.

this president's narcissism leads him to believe many things...his ability to speak without someone else's words on view is not in his wheelhouse...this we saw clearly at the previous debate.

Remember that this next one is a town hall style debate. This is a format built for democrats, and he can expect lots of help from the moderator this time.

Yes, that's true. But Romney knows this. I don't think he will fail to have a strategy or fail to execute. But he will be at a disadvantage in terms of the format and moderator. You know, the one who called the Romney/Ryan ticket the "death wish ticket." Sounds like clear-minded, objective analysis, right?
