The problem is that the government will charge low premiums for its plans, thus eventually driving some if not all privately owned health insurers out of business. If you do that it won't be only rich people who take the hit. A lot of mom-and-pop stockholders will lose their asses, and a lot of low and middle level employees will lose their jobs. How the damn government can justify such a thing when unemployment is already higher than hell and headed higher is simply unconscionable, and neither can we afford to provide additional unemployment or other compensation to these stockholders and employees nor to hire them to run the government program because (Hellooooo, are you listening, lefties?) government expenditures, taxes and deficits are already higher than hell and WE CAN'T FRICKIN' AFFORD IT!!! We've already had to spend like drunken sailors to bail ourselves out of the worst damn recession we've had since the Depression, and we haven't got the money to pay for any more government programs. Obama wants to do this health care BS and that cap and tax BS and lots of other kinds of expensive BS and we just can't afford ANY of it right now. Come back to us and we can debate this stuff when the deficits have been cut and we're running surpluses again, but right now we just ain't got enough dough in this country to pay for it.
