The "balanced approach" doesn't work

A point made very articulately by the much-maligned Grover Norquist on NPR's Morning Edition, of all places, http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2012/11/28/166000651/gro... .

My favorite quote, referring to the possibility that Democrats might accept fundamental reform of entitlements, "If you had a pink unicorn, how many dollars in taxes would you raise to trade for the pink unicorn? Since pink unicorns do not exist in the real world . . ." I've come to the conclusion that any deal that will pass muster with President Obama is worse than the "fiscal cliff."
