The Saving High-Tech Innovators from Egregious Legal Disputes (SHIELD) Act,Doesn't this sound a lot like another vector of the "tort reform" argument, that bad actors need to be protected by having their liability capped at a trivial amount? This issue has been brought up here before. I'll say tonight, the same thing I said the last time: I have a problem with any "law" that says the enforceability of a patent depends on who owns it. 'course that kind of official inequity in law is just another vector of the trend that sees insolvent community banks put out of business, while insolvent big shots are bailed out at taxpayer expense.Steve
