The shop looked it over and quoted me $450 for a carb rebuild and $350 for the new seals and fluid in the forks. Does that sound like a decent price, considering it's being done at the dealers'?

If you don't have the skills or time to do it yourself, it's a bargain. If you would rather do it yourself, it's too much. If you know what you are doing, the forks are easy and quick. The carb rebuild could take quite a bit of time, and time is money.
