The worst that happens is Franken could get a Letter of Reprimand sent to him.

The "victim" has already said she accepts his apology. It's over.

Meanwhile, the right is praising Trump for grabbing women and Moore for molesting children.

Al Franken said he wanted the charges against him investigated by the senate ethics committee. He got a lot of praise.Wow! there must not be much to the charges if he was willing to do that.

As long as it is 'under investigation',it's removed from the public eye.

My understanding is that the senate ethics committee is a half dozen 'good-old-boys' who can take up to 18 months to arrive at a conclusion.

What a joke!

He sees this as progressing, as with all the other cases, where he walks clean.

If you believe Wikipedia, here is a list of Senators that have been expelled/censured throughout history.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_Senators...

The only time a senator has been expelled, it was for supporting the Confederacy during the Civil War. So maybe they should find some ties to Franken's great-grandfather owning slaves or something.

Outside of that, there has only been 4 senators censured since WWII and none since 1990. So odds are really good that Franken will continue to represent MN. At least until re-election.

A letter of reprimand to Franken for not acting like a gentleman seems reasonable, if the facts alleged are in order.

Send one to the woman as well, reprimanding her for not acting like a lady as well.
