There are two “types” of bamboo, the type that tends to run everywhere and the type that forms clumps. The type that tends to run may (as in sometimes it works) be controlled by digging in a barrier to a depth of about 3 feet of heavy plastic or steel sheets. The clumping bamboo generally can be controlled with a mower. Bamboos also vary in height from about a foot tall to around 40 feet tall.

C.J.V. - I gots da type dat only gets a foot tall ;-)
