There is a reason that poor people buy cable television when you or I would probably put that money elsewhere.

But many, maybe most, poor people don't have Internet access, even if they have phones.

Anyhow, the folks who burned parts of Los Angeles and Washington in the 1960's had TV. Didn't stop them. A big part of that discontent was economic.

Further, revolt comes in many forms. If someone could get the votes of the twenty-somethings who are having such a hard time finding jobs, they'd have a good start on winning an election.
