These Henny-Penny's, most of whom have vested interests in a collapsing economy, have about as much credibility as the Alfred E. Neuman crowd.

There are some serious structual economic flaws in this country that will need fixing the old-fashioned way (redistributing wealth from the undeserving rich to the true achievers) and a general lowering of wasteful spending, personal and government. But there are still enough checks and balances in place to prevent the cycle of depressions pre-Keynes. And for all the long-term problems in Japan, most folks there are still living just fine.

Now lets worry about something more immediate: like how somebody is going to get us out of the Iraq mess, because it sure ain't going to be the same idiots who said it would cost nothing and we'd be greeted with flowers strewn at our feet.
