they didn't talk the way you just did. Talk to the researchers... those at the frontier, joe.

.... because they were scientists, and realized where the edge of their discipline ended.

Then nobody has any authority to discuss religion, and we should just all go home and forget about it.

And there is no "discipline" of Christianity (to stick with that particular cult). No person who can be considered an expert, based on any knowledge. It's just a cult. Albeit one that has a huge sway over American minds.

When science supported biblical truths, praise be to science. When the bible and science parted company, praise be to faith! Of course, if scientist discovered tomorrow that the earth really is just 6000 years old, just as given in the Old Testament, most Christians would forget their mantra that science and faith are two separate disciplines, in two different realms. Alas, it ain't to be.

I do not doubt that some scientists go to church. But my guess is that the vast majority of scientists are atheists, or at best attend church to please a spouse or a need for community.
