They note that the 401(k)'s lost around 47% of their value between 9/07 and 12/08. They do not note that most of that money has now been made up.If people would not panic, they could make some money. Granted, I lost money during that time; but most of my investments were in dividend paying stocks. Some of the companies reduced their dividend by dollars, but the yield rate was still high. Therefore, I gathered quite a bit of additional stock during that time. Now, that the dividends are being increased, my holdings are worth quite a bit more now than between 9/07 and 12/08.Donna
