They should warn people when they receive Medicaid that they are given a loan," said Henry Ringel, 79, of Las Vegas. "I love this country, but when we pass away we won't be able to leave our son anything. I worked for our home and now they can steal it away."What nonsense! "Steal it away", he says -- IOW, they'd rather "steal" their medical costs from the state! They won't be able to leave their son anything because they didn't have the foresight to purchase adequate health care insurance, and/or they didn't save enough, for whatever reasons. My mom was receiving medicaid in NJ when she passed away, and some of the house proceeds were taken to recover the costs. My siblings and myself didn't think twice about it--we never expected to inherit anything because my mom was POOR--DUH--that's why she was on medicaid!2old
