Think about handicap parking. It is fair that there are larger spots very close to the business - in the best parking spots.

Not necessarily fair. I use an electric wheelchair. I don't need a close parking spot. But I do need a spot that is wide enough for the ramp that comes out the side of the van. We sometimes park near the back of the lot, but too often someone parks next to us anyway.

And, BTW, when it says "van accessible", you shouldn't be parking a car there. At least here in Arizona. I wish they enforced that more often.
