Think what a difference gas prices could be if the prez didn't block the Keystone XL pipeline and as an added bonus the pipeline would create thousands of jobs for Americans.
Yes, just think. If you do, you may find that the Keystone pipeline would have little, if any, impact on the price of gas. Indeed, it may even have the effect of raising prices. http://stateimpact.npr.org/texas/2012/05/17/how-the-keystone...
You'll also find, if you think, that around 6,000 jobs -- mostly short-term construction jobs -- would be created if the Keystone Pipeline went through -- an exceedingly small fraction of the job growth under Obama already in progress. http://www.politifact.com/georgia/statements/2012/apr/11/joh...
We already import millions of barrels per day through other pipelines, so any argument is moot.
No, any argument is not "moot". Blowing off any opposing viewpoints is the definition of closed-minded. Facts, after all, matter more than partisan sniping.
Also, "Obama limits oil-shale development OK’d by Bush"
I'm left to wonder if you even read the article you cite, or know much about Grist.org, the publisher of same. Here's but one snippet from that article:
"It was 'laid out in the final days of the George W. Bush administration.'
Ha ha. Oh, well if that guy thinks it’s a good idea..."
So, for me anyway, a little reading, a little healthy skepticism, and a little critical thinking go much farther than quick, cut-n-paste oil company talking points in my book.
But I think my book is different from yours ;-)
