This article has some discussion of moat. According to this one key is their database. I see they do have some patents on a number of the technologies.

SLB offers core analysis services. From the CLB 10-K I get the impression that possibly the greatest competitive threat is from some of the large oil and gas companies setting up their own internal analysis services.

The 10-K says nothing about customer concentration. My sense is that they have quite a broad range of customers and a broad geographic footprint but with NA clearly the largest.

Seems like acquisition has been one key strategy over the years, buying up small new technologies.

This is one I have looked at many times, but always wanted a better price, getting interesting here.
