This doesn't make sense, because prescription drug coverage is an option. It's not required. If you choose to get it, then you pay a premium to the insurance company you buy the coverage from, although it can be deducted from your SS monthly benefit. I've never heard of someone being charged for it who didn't want drug coverage. Let us all know if you get any further info on this. I have drug coverage, and Medicare deducts the premium from my monthly SS payment.
