This is just a strategy for selling some of your stocks to fund your temporary retirement. If you own large blocks of shares of individual companies then you can sell covered calls on the shares you want to sell. Selling options generates immediate income and sometimes they are not exercised and you can resell the calls for more income.

This is how I sell stock. Ask your broker about this selling process. For example: Just don't give a sell order at market for 1,000 shares. Give an order that sells 10 contracts to buy your shares at a future date at a future price (strike). If you sell out-of-the-money call options they might not be exercised (if the stock does not rise). Keep selling options untill your stock is sold. I did this for 6 months with 1,000 shares last year and earned over $8,000 selling the options before the stock was exercised.
