This is strictly my guess as to what will take place. The tax rebate checks will be for the reduction to the new 10% bracket, which is effective as of 1-1-2001, so no withholding change should take place for it. But the other tax brackets (except 15%) also decrease by 1% effective 7-1-2001. So withholding will probably change slightly to reflect this change, for those in those higher brackets.
