This is the reason it may be possible (but will be challenging) to get it to work with a Mac:Printer languages: Windows host-based printer command language (PCL) 5e emulation for MS-DOS (R) printing http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=bpl10939&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=45674&prodTypeId=18972 If it had a true PCL 5e engine, it would be a lot easier, and most likely HP would provide Mac drivers for it. (It would also tend to be a more costly printer.)
