This isn't the Fools Fighting Fat board, but I just want to point out that there's nothing magical about abstaining from meat that is going to make the lbs fall off. It takes an overall reduction of calories in general--from whatever their source--to accomplish that. There are still plenty of calories in many meatless foods that need to be considered. Cheese and butter for example are loaded with calories. And even from a vegan perspective, nuts, nut butters, seeds, dried fruit, olive oil, etc. are calorically dense.


yep, I've been working on it, cutting out meat, poultry, eggs, dairy

down 40 pounds (actually since last August when Irene hit us) and just taking it slow and enjoying new recipes and trying new veggies like kohlarabi and such... LOL!
