This just reinforces my determination to get ALL credit card debt paid off. First USA is my most-hated one, and I will be doing a huge happy dance (on the table) in December when it's finally gone. Good for you! I have two cards that were bought by First USA. I am in the process of rapid debt reduction (See my Medium Happy Dance post). When my it became possible, I balanced transferred everything off of these two accounts. I cancelled one of the cards, and will cancel the other as soon as I can lower my debt enough to feel comfortable dumping First Usa completely. Here's why I dumped First USA. 1) The cards kept changing. They changed the name of the card, the terms, and the look. One of the cards became just plain ugly. I wouldn't dump a good card because it was ugly. But I just couldn't imagine a sane person choosing the look of this card or the name they gave it.2) They continually call me for "Special Offers" that are just transparent scams. Other cards do this. But at least their telemarketers sound professional. I heard babies crying in the background of one telemarketing call.3) They didn't want to negotiate with me when others would. When I was at my worst, at least the other banks worked with me. The would refuse a rate decrease and then increase my credit limit. It became very obvious what they were doing.Angry Geek
