This message board is more for questions and answers. You make some fascinating points and write very nicely. Probably, you could really generate some discussion on the Community of Bears or Dow Investing/Foolish 4 message boards in the Investors' Roundtable folder. Just hit Messages on the home page or Folders below to see a list of folders. >>>All this to say, my conclusion is that the continued success of the Foolish Four strategy is based on the continued inflow of new money at at least the historical rate. Looking at the data, I believe this is likely to happen and so I am quite happy to add my new money to the markets - all earlier investors rejoice as the value of the pyramid grows!<<<I don't believe all the Dow Dogs investing makes a dent in the market caps of any of the Dow 30 companies. If the amount of money following the Foolish 4 tripled it still wouldn't make a dent.Likewise, individual investors combined don't add up to much either. Fidelity Magellan probably has at least double the assets of all individual investors combined!New money is created, not when an individual holds a stock and then sells at a gain. Even though the investor makes money I don't believe any money is added economically to the economy in that transaction. The money just changes hands constantly. The new money is created when the company increased earnings by selling more goods. One final note, most of the Dow 30 companies do the majority of their business overseas.Patrick
