This sounds like a scam to me.

I agree. I've seen late payment notices by mail (not for Sprint, but for other things), but have only heard of people being called when it is very late and the customer has been ignoring the mailed notices. Calling the customer is expensive.

Be sure to watch your credit card statements very carefully (if you do not already do so) for unauthorized charges.
