This sucks big-time! What I am hearing is that the IRS is going to take its tax cut (relative to my total IRA portfolio) whenever I take a distribution or convert to a Roth, even if I take only an amount equal to my after-tax basis, and even though I only impact an after-tax IRA account. Am I understanding correctly?
