This tells you all you need to know about Democrats. It's not about 'safety', 'education', 'poverty', 'the environment' or 'the middle class'. It's all about power: getting it and retaining it. If you don't (or can't) help them in either of those, you're an enemy at worst and a pawn at best. Either way, they're happy to throw you under the bus if you happen to be around when they get stuck.

Anyone mentioning 'freedom', 'liberty', 'limited Government' or 'the Constitution' without sarcasm, irony or cynicism is a witch and must be burned or drowned, a la Monty Python.
