Thoughtleader,
Did you do much comparison before choosing Met Life?
I'm really trying to make a choice myself now and Met looks pretty good.
The cost of living option seems to be the biggest hang up right now. It can take the premiums up an additional thousand dollars a year. OUCH !!
It's tough to get quotes over the internet as most companies want your
name and number from the start. Heck - I won't answer my phone between 5 and 7 cause some insurance guy is after me like a bill collector.
GE looks more expensive than Met, TIAA-CREF looks pretty comparable to Met and Penn Treaty won't give information without giving your name and going through an agent.
LTC would be a good topic for a board here at MF. Let all us wandering Fools share our insurance experiences and help each other ward off the wolves.
Regards, Jim
