Anyone read the article in US News? It's all about how Bill has doubts as to Microsofts prospects for continued success. There are quotes from Bill where he is saying that he doesn't know if the company is still hungry, and all kinds of similar stuff.

The writer seems to buy completely into Bill's story, but I think (hope) it's just a PR ploy to make MS not seem so dominant.

Funny thing though, as soon as I finished the article, a commercial for MS's new talking teddy bear toy came on TV. Yet another market for MS to break into.

I read the twenty year anniversary interview with Bill Gates and Paul Allen... where they talk about their company from the beginning. At every step of the way, it seems they have had doubts about their enterprise. That's why only the paranoid survive and prosper.

I thought it interesting that their first product idea was to build automated traffic lights. Maybe they'll get around to that eventually! Could use it here in Seattle.

I'd be curious to see what comes out of Microsoft's huge R&D investments.... don't they have a huge research department?

Also, on the technical call situation... the new Annual Report states that tech calls for Windows 98 are way down from Win95.
