I won't ask your thoughts on why we shouldn't have allowed our daughter to suck her thumb. Let's just say, it's too late for that discussion. She sucks her thumb, and we were okay with it. She only does it when drifting off to sleep and when she is asleep.

What concerns me now is how the skin on her thumb has cracked and is starting to peel. Yuck, I know. She hasn't complained of pain, but I expect it to start bothering her.

She's not quite two years old, so talking her out of thumb-sucking is not an option. Lotion seems to be of no help. Any ancient family remedies? I doubt a glove would help. A Band-Aid would probably end up on the floor.
