Thus, the laws of thermodynamics do not apply to the human body. EVER. Period.

The laws of thermodynamics clearly apply to a closed system that includes food, a human being, and any excreta. If you look at my post, that's what I was describing. The problem with the nutritionist's comment was failing to define a closed system.

However, since I was writing for people who may not share the academic background in thermodynamics that you and I apparently share, I did not take the question far enough to address your point.
