I have a friend that had tile put in. The tile looks great, but I have a question regarding what or if there is a standard when it comes to the front door threshold. The front door swings out. What the tile guy did was cut back the tile about 2" from the front door and put a marble strip in. Well, the marble strip is not level with the rest of the tile. It sticks up maybe a 1/4 of an inch above the tile. The front door then butts up against the marble piece. This does not look right regarding the marble piece sticking up. I cannot find any video's or diagrams showing if this is a standard, or if it is just an installer preferred method. Can anybody shed some light on this?
