I'm a little surprised at not reading anything on this board or the Fool Pilots board about Time Magazine's house ad on page 70 of the December 23 issue. For those who haven't seen it, it's a photo of two GA airplanes tied down near two power plant (implication: nuclear power) cooling towers. The caption is, "Remember when only environmentalists would have been alarmed by this photo? Join the Conversation."

The general public is ignorant about general aviation as it is. We surely don't need Time, with its huge circulation and cachet of credibility spreading misinformation through inflamatory full page color ads that feed irrational fears but contribute nothing to enlightening its readers. [Huff-Huff-Huff-Huff...]

If you haven't yet seen it please look for it then write a suitably hot letter of protest to Time's publisher and president; cc the editor if you like but this was not an editorial decision.
