I've been getting frequent drop-offs in my connection, which clear up if I unplug everything and restart the computer. The one time I called my ISP, they said that it must be my modem if I can re-set it like that. Should I just go on ahead and buy a new modem, or is there any other troubleshooting I should or could do?

p.s. It's a Motorola modem, I bought it used about 3 or so years ago.
