I am buying a new home for cash, thus, there is no mortgage company to insist I get title insurance.It appears to me that title insurance is a major rip-off by the title companies. I think they charge something like $500 for insurance that just about never has to pay off.I am buying a new home in a development being built by a nation wide development company. If my title has a problem, it looks like the whole development would have a problem. If there was a problem, when my neighbors win their court case I win mine.Any thoughts? Does some company sell title insurance for a more reasonable price?Thanks
