Here's Nate Parmalee's Take on the Q2 results

I'm really not impressed with this TMF article.

I used to work in the estate planning business. First American is about a lot more than just title insurance. One of the reasons that I purchased stock in the company is because I was familiar with their real property database, used it frequently to pull deeds, and experienced fantastic customer service. I bought in 1.5 years ago and I have made money on the stock.

While it's certainly true that the real estate market moves in cycles (what doesn't?), that's not a reason not to buy the stock. If anything, it's a reason TO buy the stock (buy low, sell high).

The P/E is really good and they have a lot of other services that bring in money that can flatten out the cycles.

The one criticism that I find valid is the comment re: earnings.
