This (allegedly) goes on all over the country. I for one believe it to be true. I live in the Bay area, (near Oakland, CA) and on election night, my fiance and I were making our way back home from the polls at about 7:30pm. On the main thoroughfare, a DUI checkpoint was setup that had traffic backed up for a couple blocks. Any attempt to circumvent this checkpoint (as we did, our house was only a couple blocks away) was immediately intercepted by a police cruiser. After checking license and registration, she let us go on our merry way. I just find it rather peculiar that this was set up on a TUESDAY night....ELECTION NIGHT!!! That is the one and only DUI checkpoint I have ever seen...not Fri/Sat nights, not Thanksgiving, Xmas, or even New Years!

Draw your own conclusions. I'm already convinced.
