Tmpatric is just plain wrong if he (or she) is implying that making two semimonthly payments, each of which is half a monthly payment, will save you money over the long term. Note that this is different from making biweekly payments, each of which is half a monthly payment.

If he is saying you should write a check every time you get paid, as a budgeting ploy (this has been discussed quite a bit on the Budgeting board, I believe), then fine.
