To all those in denial about global warming: Keep up the good work!

I only know one group of people who are in denial about "global warming" and "climate change".

They specifically deny:

* that the globe warmed from about 1600 AD to 1900 AD
* that the globe warmed from about 600 AD to 900 AD, to a peak of about where it is now
* that the globe also cooled from about 1200 AD to about 1500 AD
* that the globe also cooled from about 200 AD to about 500 AD
* that the globe also cooled from about 1945 AD to about 1970 AD
* that the globe is now cooler than the warmest it's been since the last (short) Ice Age (I specify "short" because we are still in the first part of a long Ice Age)
* that the globe appears to have pretty much stopped warming, and perhaps begun cooling, sometime between 1997 and 2007
* that the globe was substantially warmer than it is now for most of the past 60 million years, as evidenced by (among other things) the fact that Antarctica is covered by glaciers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:65_Myr_Climate_Change.png

Why do they deny these things?

Because if they acknowledge these facts, the basis for a panic about human-caused "climate change" kind of falls apart.

On a longer timescale, they fail to acknowledge that the current atmospheric CO2 level is abnormally and possibly pathologically low - and that the doubling they sometimes fearfully predict is inadequate to bring it back up to the bottom of normal range. http://www.pnas.org/content/99/7/4167/F4.expansion.html Which further damages the case for, specifically, panic about the high CO2 level.
