To follow up on TMF Pitch's comments. I had custom fit clubs as my first set and I never performed better than they did. :-)

I believe, however, that my swing changed over time because I was "new" to the game.

I recently purchased Ping clubs, after going through a couple of different "measuring" sessions with different golf stores. They seem to have a really nice feel to them. I like the weighting better than the custom fit clubs. Especially, as you get into the short irons.

I don't think I'll be better than my new Pings for a LONG time. I'll keep holding trying, though. :-)

The only things you really need to know from these ramblings are:
1) I'm not a good golfer but it ain't the club's fault
2) I like my Pings
3) Clubs are EXTREMELY personal, so buy what feels right
4) I'm not a good golfer (Oh yeah, I said that)
