To Paul's book suggestion, I would add "First Things First" by Stephen Covey.

It is a set of activities that guide YOU to determine for yourself, what is 'first' for you. This will help you decide if what you are currently doing careerwise is a 'First Thing'.

The book also is a guide to developing a WRITTEN plan to achieve those 'first' things.

The point is that YOU decide what is your goal. If you know your goal, why it's your goal, and how you can conceivably achieve it, then you have much greater chance of achieving it.

Be well
