Tomorrow I have to call Vanguard and find out how to handle her 529. I opened it, but I have no idea how to make it available to her (or if that's somehow automatic). It's not a fortune in there, but it definitely will help. I think it's almost doubled since I opened it.

I have no idea how your state handles the 529 plan. Here all I had to do was request online reimbursement for my daughter's expenses. Basically, I'd pay tuition by check and then request reimbursement of that amount from the 529.
