Well, I have to go the other way on this one. I think regulation can and does work. Sure it has its problems. However, we have regulatory systems in place so individuals don't have to spend exorbitant amounts of time before making decisions. For me it's a question of my quality of life. I don't want to waste years (cumulative) researching whether an airline, food product, or credit card is a safe bet. I expect government to provide and enforce standards so I can make difficult decisions more easily. The debate here is whether the present cc standards are helping our quality of life or not. I think it's an oversight to simply characterize all regulations as bad.
