anyone out there have this or are familiar with this neuromuscular disease? my father's had it since 1979 and uses to belong to a support group in portland, oregon. i think he gave up going because, as he says "there's really nothing that can be done for me."

he has had an extremely rough time with this disease (if it is, in fact, a disease) and it eventually led to his medical discharge from the army.

i was wondering how this has affected anyone else and what kind of homegrown remedies anyone has tried. my dad's run the gamut from biofeedback to faith healing. anything that will, or purports to, ease the suffering. right now he's doing the botulinium treatments every 6 months...
