On Thursday I went in to do my stint for science and had a PET scan w/ the newly approved (FDA) tracer for Alzheimer's. In the process they took my blood pressure - before and after.

After the scan, my back was killing me. It involved laying motionless for at least 1.5 hours. Of course, my back complained, because I couldn't move my head (or my body) while the various scans were being done. The nurse said she'd be calling me to make sure there were no adverse effects.

My only adverse effect was from the blasted automated blood pressure cuff. My bicep is still sore. The BP reading was taken by one of those automated machines that go to the absolute max and slowly drop down. They ran the readings twice before and twice after. Then they tried them again, just to be sure of the reading - both before and after. I defy anyone to get a reasonable BP reading when they are in pain...
