Your information is out of date. These offers dried up a year or two ago. quotes Everbank as the best national checking offer with an 0.98% APY. Admittedly has not been known to be exhaustive. Even so, even markber's website ( ) shows nothing of note and his board has quit generating any real tips as well.

I imagine the best rate you might find from some credit union or other niche player is perhaps 1.25% APY; but if that exists, I don't know where to find it.
