If I was going to retire to a trailer park, I would never move to Florida--too much humidity for my liking.

Instead, I would opt for Northern Mexico. Benefits are dry sunny climes and close proximity to the US.

Here's one option that is right on the beach.

Wow! those rates are very attractive for the waterfront location.

Please excuse my gringo ignorance, but I assume this is safe, legit, etc.

I am reminded of those who say that you can cruise full time on a cruise ship for about what you pay a nursing home. So why not enjoy the good life, first rate food, pleasant climate and entertainment.

Why live in a trailer, when you can live on a cruise ship?

Yes it is very safe and legit. Although I haven't personally stayed at this trailer park, I've been to it and have friends who stored trailers there. It's located in the city Puerto Penasco (although us Gringos refer to it as "Rocky Point') in the state of Sonora, Mexico. Rocky Point is a 4 hour drive from Phoenix Arizona and a 2 hour drive from Tucson--making it the closest ocean within driving distance.

I've been to Rocky Point many times. Most folks use the trailier parks for vacation getaways---but there are also getting to be a lot of full-timers down there too.

Yes I read about a lady who is doing this. What I wonder is if you in bad enough shape to require a nursing home, would they kick you off the cruise ship? If not, then this seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Admit I have never RVed or been ´trailer trash´, but I know quite a bit about Mexico (on my 4th trip right now...bus and airplane, no RV).

N. Mexico is a dry climate, but quite extreme (hot summer, cold winter.) Are you advocating just part time retirement in Rocky Point? Otherwise, I hope you have a darn good air conditioner unit.

Pedorrero, whose home in FL will soon be enjoying its dry season.

Yes you are right--A/C is a must if you live there year round. I live in Phoenix and I'd say the climate in Rocky Point is similiar to here.

More of assisted living. All house keeping is done, meals are prepared, and entertainment is provided.

I am not so certain I would want to rely on the onboard doctor as a primary care physician.
