My new computer arrived today. I'm so excited. To save a little money, I decided to transfer the modem from my old computer (56kbs) to the new one. A friend was going to help me, but is out of town for a couple of days. I would appreciate it if someone could give me instructions so I can try it on my own. I don't think it should be too difficult.

My current computer is an (old) Gateway desktop and will be going into a new Dell tower.

Also, any suggestions on what I should do with my old computer? It is pretty old, 200 MMX Pentium, 32 MB RAM, and 2 GB hard drive. Can they be recycled? If I just reformat the hard drive, will that wipe it clean before I get rid of it?

Thanks! Any advice/help is most appreciated.
