Hello-I am just beginning to plan my retirement. I am able to get some contribution from my employer to a 401k that they offer, but I would rather manage it myself. My question is this:How do I (or CAN I) change my 401k that is provided through my emplyer into a self-directed IRA? Or is there a way for me just to redirect the funds? I have heard of some people doing this, but I don't know if it depends on the actual company that runs the 401k plan, or what. thanks for your help!spi
